Product Description
Whirlfloc® T is a purified carrageenan-based kettle fining extracted from Irish Moss algae and pressed into convenient tablets. It coagulates haze-forming colloids in the wort, accelerating dense trub formation during hot and cold breaks. The fining agent binds with trub particles and settles out before fermentation—it does not remain in the finished beer. This improves wort clarity, reduces chill haze, shortens cold break time, and boosts wort recovery rates, resulting in cleaner fermentation and easier post-fermentation filtration.
Add 0.5 tablets per 5 gallons to the kettle 10 minutes before flame-out. Low-pH brews or stubborn hazes may require a full tablet. Tablets dissolve rapidly without hydration; crush if needed for faster dissolution.
